Measurement Network meeting: IOT and Measurement in Aix en Provence

Focus on the "Réseau Mesure"

The "Réseau Mesure" was founded in 2002, and brings together companies specialising in measurement and instrumentation. This inter-regional network offers a range of tools to support the development of its members, encouraging collaboration through a number of working groups on different topics to promote collective intelligence. The topics covered range from emerging sectors to improving communication, taking part in trade fairs and group purchasing, demonstrating the diversity of the skills pooled.

JM Concept is a member of the network

JM Concept joined the Mesure network in 2019! Since then, a number of our employees have been actively involved in the various initiatives on offer, depending on the theme, and have found them to be highly effective. Every year, we take part in the Mesure Solutions Expo trade show, held at the Cité des Congrès in Lyon. We also take advantage of group purchases, and work together at themed meetings on selected, strategic business sectors. We're also part of the 'Communication' working group, where we discuss our common problems and share ideas and tips on how to solve them. The exchanges and discussions are always very constructive, and we always come away enriched and stronger.

The latest "Réseau Mesure" meeting

This week, we took part in the IOT and Measurement meeting, to find out more about the challenges and opportunities in this sector. We went to the Aix Marseille Provence campus of the Ecole des Mines de Saint Etienne with the fifty or so other participants.

It was another instructive meeting, full of conviviality, sharing and good humour.

We attended several conferences on the theme of IOT

  • The benefits of IOT for metrology
  • Measurement and metrology
  • Presentation of various practical applications
  • Presentation of communication using intelligent sensors with Single Pair Ethernet (SPE)

In the afternoon, we were able to visit the Campus, in particular the Salle Blanche, the Lab and the ID-Fab. Students on placement, as well as a number of PhD students and lecturers, were able to show us their work and how the IOT was accelerating their various research projects.

It was an exciting day, full of exchanges and sharing!
